| The Sidemen
were formed by
three of the south of England's most popular freelance 'dep'
musicians. Let's
explain. A 'Dep' is someone who gets the call last minute to stand
in for a missing band member when needed, often with only a short time
to prepare. So, as professional 'Deps',
you can be assured that the level of
musicianship is second to none and that the Sidemen have well deserved
individual reputations as the first guys to phone. Whilst
we can't ethically name any names, the Sidemen have
worked as deputy and session players for some of the UK's best loved
function outfits, so you will probably have already seen some of the
members in
person! We are in a lot of
musicians phone books along with those of clubs & venues
all over the South Coast. Add us to yours and enjoy the benefits. Of
course we also have a well earned
reputation amongst the local agencies and venues as being highly
reliable 1st
class entertainment in our own right. We are The Sidemen. Having worked for so many of the UK's leading function outfits, the Sidemen have massive combined experience and a very professional outlook to help make your event extra special. Oh and did we mention that being a trio, our cost is surprisingly low considering how good we sound? That said, we can add a saxophone, trumpet or even a female singer if you want a specific sound. We'll also arrive promptly (after plenty of personal contact leading up to the event) and have full public liability cover and a great rig of equipment with lighting & background music when needed. So how about the music? We play tunes from the Soul era (Otis Reading, Al Green, Stevie Wonder), 50's & 60's (Chuck Berry, The Kinks, Free, James Brown), 70's (Wild Cherry, Steve Miller Band), 90's (Santana, George Michael, Spin Doctors) 00's (Mark Ronson, Sam Sparro, Outkast, Kings Of Leon) and there's even some Bob Marley, Paul Simon & Steppenwolf just to keep absolutely everybody happy. We're always happy to respond to requests on the night too. You should be hearing our demo playing now but if you need any further information, please don't hesitate to ask.
